Need for Speed World will be the first title in North America to use Dolby’s Axon technology. It’s a new chat technology that is supposed to allow players to become even more immersed in the underground racing world.
“Working with Dolby, we can give gamers a seamless channel of communication for them to collaborate together to become the top racer. We’re excited to be the first title in North America to incorporate Dolby Axon to help enhance our player’s overall racing experience.” said Stephane Grefford, Producer, Need for Speed World.
It takes care of removing background noise, removing that pesky echo and includes support for surround sound voice chat over stereo headsets, stereo speakers and 5.1 setups.
You don’t need any special hardware to make use of Dolby Axon.

Am I crazy? Balls of steel, baby, balls of steel!”
Duke Nukem Forever is currently in development for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
We host the videos on a different server but it seems that the provider of the server has shutdown without giving us notice. This means that a huge majority of the videos don’t work. Basically anything pointing to x2.vgiko.com no longer exists.
I’m currently deciding what to do with these missing videos. Just a quick notice if videos aren’t buffering.

Take-Two has published their report for the third fiscal quarter of 2010. Among a few of the things mentioned in the report is that net revenue was up from $94.9M in the same quarter of 2009 to a whopping $354.1M.
A huge chunk of this is down to John Marston as Red Dead Redemption sold 6.9 million units. They also mentioned that DLC from the likes of Borderlands and Grand Theft Auto 4 was continued to be a “meaningful component to Take-Two’s sales”.
It sadly all wasn’t rosy as it briefly mentioned that L.A. Noire has now slipped and is expected during the first half of 2011.

It’s been a rumour which doesn’t die. Even after Valve came out and said they weren’t actively working on bringing Steam to Linux, it has resurfaced again.
A new job listing has gone live on the Valve site for a Senior Software Engineer which among other things would be responsible for “Port Windows-based games to the Linux platform.”.
Could this point to a future Steam client for Linux? it’s certainly looking more likely.

If you live in either the US, UK, Japan or Mexico you’ll be able to “if you see it, just sat it” when Kinect launches later in the year. If you don’t happen to live in one of those four countries you will probably will have to wait until sometime in 2011 to be able to tell your Xbox what to do.
Microsoft PR manager Lidia Pitzalis said in an interview with Eurogamer Spain. Mentioning that Germany, Itality, France and Spain would have to wait until a Spring 2011 update for them to be included.
It’s quite a feat for Microsoft to be able to support the plethora of different accents from the various countries, and both the US and UK will have different software versions to support those accents. If you happen to speak perfect English but don’t live in one of the supported launch countries you’ll sadly still be out of luck as it will be disabled until official support is added.
